Mikkeller Drink'in The Sun

Overall

76%

Drinkin'In The Sun is the original low-alcohol offering in the now-extensive Mikkeller Non-ABV Beer range. Brewed by the internationally successful Danish craft beer boffins via D’Proef in Belgium, this is a light, American-style wheat ale with "added real sunshine".

It delivers a hoppy, top-note-heavy fruitiness (without actually being a fruit-beer, of which there are plenty) and, although tasty, could do with a bit more longevity and substance. After an initially pleasant wheaty-welcome it fades away all too quickly leaving a mildly soapy aftertaste. It is fresh and it is summery which does make for an easy drink and, with due credit, does initially hit those authentic wheat beer notes, but when a beer is lacking body it can prove to be a little hollow, sunshine or no sunshine.
